Grenache RosÉ

  • Cultivated on a south-east facing slope at 1,150 feet above sea level, this Grenache is grown exclusively for rosé production. Pale, even slightly coppery, we like that the wine doesn’t look like a traditional pink wine. Succuient and fragrant with aromas of strawberry and spice, this wine presents a lively and energetic lift on the palate. This style resonates from the cool, elevated Blue Mountain Vineyard. Echolands is produced by Doug Frost and winemaker Brian Rudin.

  • 100% Grenache

  • Limited availably: Tasting room, and Wine Club members only.

SYRAH

  • Our commitment to Walla Walla Valley is steadfast; our block of Les Collines Vineyard is here supplemented by fruit from the stonier areas of the Walla Walla Valley. Our preference for only light amounts of new oak had to accommodate the richer Syrah style that the "stones" produces, but we stayed true to our use of only 500L French puncheons.

  • 98% Syrah, 2% Viognier

SEVEN HILLS VINEYARD

  • Seven Hills Vineyard is one of the most important sites in Walla Walla Valley and represents a pioneering vineyard in the region. Founded in 1972, wines from Seven Hills Vineyard are structured and built for the long haul. While we are keen to create wines with nuance, elegance and moderated alcohol, Seven Hills Vineyard has its own character to show - bold and expressive.

RUbRum

  • Founded in 2017, Echolands represents a dedication to the particular soils of Walla Walla Valley, where bony basalt, rock piles and layers of loess intermingle.

Our Bordeaux-style blend seeks to balance these differing elements. Our goal is to harness those characters, highlight aromatics, retain acidity and balance, and to create wines that grow in complexity with time.

  • 40% Cabernet Franc, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot

ALBUS

  • Our first estate wine from Taggart Vineyard, named for my grandfather (who grew up nearby), my mom (her maiden name, duh) and my Uncle Gene, who poured me my first glass of wine (I was 15; get over it). Albus is our first-ever white wine: It's 72% Sauvignon Blanc and 28% Semillon, from our vines on the north end of Taggart, close to Lower Dry Creek. The Sauvignon Blanc sees some skin contact, a single barrel of which is barrel-fermented, while the Semillon is destemmed, crushed and drained into stainless steel for fermentation. Two clones of Sauvignon Blanc create two differing styles of the grape, but both are fruit-focused and not at all the gooseberry thing that has placed New Zealand on the map. We'll leave that style to the kiwis.

  • 72% Sauvignon Blanc, 28% Semillon

PoÉT-NAT

  • Pet-Nat is a style that is newly ascendant, but is rightly called methode ancestrale, being as old as the hills. Our Pet-Nat is 100% Cabernet Franc from the Seven Hills Vineyard and was harvested early in order to retain its acidity. The fermentation began in stainless steel and, as it got close to dryness, it was transferred to the bottle to finish fermentation; no sulfur was added at any point. The wine remained on the lees until April 2023 when we disgorged it and let it rest for a few months. We call it "PoET-NAT," well, just because.

GRENACHE RIVIÈRE-GALETS

  • Rivière-Galets Vineyard is in the Rocks District of Milton Freewater AVA (the stony portion of the Walla Walla Valley), and its head-pruned vines are low to the ground, soaking up all the heat those river-smoothed pudding stones radiate in the summer sun. Some producers leave their Grenache grapes to ripen to a surprising degree in that sauna-like environment, but we pick far sooner than the rest, with the goal of preserving acidity and keeping the wine's flavors fresh and bright. This Grenache was aged exclusively in 60-gallon stainless steel drums.

Syrah LeS Collines Block 50

  • Les Collines Vineyard is justly famed for its ability to produce vibrant but elegant Syrah.

We work with several blocks of Syrah within Les Collines Vineyard with the goal of blending the different blocks to create our vineyard designate Les Collines Syrah. In 2020, Block 50 was so different that we bottled it separately to showcase its distinctive qualities. We usually strive for elegance in our wines, but we like this beast. It demonstrates the darker, brooding side of Syah.

  • 98% Syrah, 2% Viognier

CABERNET FRANC

  • This is one of those wines that started its life as a potential blender and quickly demanded its own bottle. The wine embodies precisely what we hoped to achieve: the ideal Cabernet Franc character of lavender, rose petal, herbs and blue and red fruits, along with the generosity and richness that Walla Walla can bring. Nestled in the beautiful Blues, Blue Mountain Vineyard is one of the coolest sites in Walla Walla Valley, and our Cabernet Franc benefits from this lovely environment.

  • 97% Cabernet Franc, 3% Merlot

Pepper Bridge Vineyard

  • Sitting on a hill in a cooler spot in the Walla Walla Valley, Pepper Bridge Vineyard has emerged as a source of bold and sturdy Cabernets and Merlots. The 2019 vintage saw several frosts before harvest and our nerves were on edge until the grapes were in and fermenting. As it transpired, we fell in love with our small production of Pepper Bridge Cab - it didn't suffer from the cold, and even benefited from it.

  • 97% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Merlot

    2019 Tech Sheet

  • We have always loved Seven Hills Vineyard; I don't think it's an exaggeration to call it the most important old vineyard in Walla Walla Valley. Cabernet Sauvignon from Seven Hills is an ideal match when that Cabernet is from old vines in Block 3, you will understand why we view this wine as a very special expression of what the Echolands style. Yes, we try to make wines of elegance, but this has a solid and intense core and we think deserves a long cellaring.
